Diga-Talk's technology offers inherent security against casual electronic eavesdropping via its NXDN® digital air interface. It also includes NXDN® voice & data scrambling for security against external threats while providing confidentiality within the same system and talk group. Inter-network links are further secured through encrypted VPN tunneling. Diga-Talk system operators can automatically validate individual subscriber radio hardware by ESN (a unique factory-embedded Electronic Serial Number) rather than changing the system's unit and group ID lists in the event a unit is lost, stolen, or removed permanently or temporarily from service.
Subscriber units use advanced control channel hunting algorithms, RF signal strength and digital signal quality (low bit-error-rate) to automatically determine the best sites to register on while moving throughout the Diga-Talk network.
The system automatically assigns channels for faster, efficient use of spectrum, allowing users to concentrate on the job at hand.
All-Call Group and Private Direct Calls
Your Diga-Talk system can be customized to your specific need. Group calls can be made to allow all radios in your group to receive messages. You can also allow your radios to make private individual calls.
Group and Individual calls enjoy complete privacy, as other users in the system cannot monitor the calls. The Priority Monitor feature will monitor for up to 4 high priority talk groups and switch users to those calls in progress so important calls are not missed.
The Diga-Talk radio is capable of sending and receiving custom status messages. Simple messages can be programmed like "Arrived, Loaded, etc." or interconnected devices can trigger a message to be sent like "Roller Door Opened, PTO Engaged, Dump Body Raised".
Automatic vehicle location can be provided by the installation of a small optional GPS receiver into the mobile radio. GPS from a portable hand-held radio requires an optional GPS Speaker Microphone.
The location information will be sent with each push to talk and with each status message. The mobile radio can also be programmed to send its location information every 5 minutes. The location information can be displayed and stored on a desktop PC connected to a base radio. The software is also able to poll a specific radio for real-time location information
The Diga-Talk network has an E-mail gateway connected to the public Internet. A Diga-Talk radio can be assigned a unique e-mail address so it is able to receive e-mail messages. This is very useful for companies using computer-aided dispatch programs that direct messages to an e-mail address. The message will be displayed when received and stored for playback at a later time.
The radios are able to send and receive text messages to each other with an optional keypad microphone.
